Sustainability on principle

As we are in the business of processing natural products, we acknowledge a special responsibility for our environment – for only intact nature can be counted on in the long term to supply the basis for pure and healthy results.

As a family business, we take a long view – we think in terms of generations. So, sustainable management is something that for us is absolutely self-explanatory. And we do not just apply these stringent standards to ourselves. We audit our suppliers on a regular basis in order to ensure that the principles of natural conservation are observed at all stages of the production process.

We pursue a consistent policy of commitment to the preservation of natural flora and fauna. For example, we have switched to energy-saving bulbs for the lighting of our premises; and when making additions to our pool of vehicles, we always opt for economical models with low carbon dioxide emissions. The temperature controls in our warming rooms, the production department and the office rooms are geared to core working hours.

Our commitment to the environment is underlined by our membership of BUND (Bund für Umwelt und Naturschutz Deutschland: German League for the Environment and Natural Conservation), and we also have been involved in numerous environmental projects.

Furthermore we regularly are engaged in social projects such as “Integration durch Sport [Integration by exercising]” which allows young people living in deprived areas the guided use of sports facilities of the Metropolitan Police of Hamburg.
