On sustainability and what it means to us

Sustainability means responsibility for humanity and nature, for products and firms, for present and future. Here at Düllberg Konzentra, sustainability is an integral part of our daily activities.  We apply a global policy of sustainability and measure ourselves by the standards we create for others.

Heading a family business means assuming responsibility; and the same applies at least in equal measure to processing natural products. That’s because only if nature is intact can it provide the basis for pure and healthy products – both for our own generation and for generations to come. That’s why we are committed to protecting nature and the environment.

We ensure the full traceability of our products.

We audit our suppliers to make sure that natural resources are protected at all relevant points along the supply chain.

We obtain the appropriate certification for our products, for instance the ECOCERT seal of approval for essential oils from organically grown plants.

We follow the principles laid down in the GMP and ISO 9001 guidelines, thus guaranteeing the quality and safety of our workflows and our production environment.

We create a modern working environment and good conditions for our employees.

We are committed to ecofriendly energy sources and reduce our carbon emissions by using energy-saving lamps, regulating temperatures according to working hours, making our vehicle fleet more fuel-efficient and recycling our residues.
We participate in social projects such as the “Integration through Sport“ initiative of the Hamburger Sportbund sports association and are an active member of the environment and nature conservation society BUND.

Environmental responsibility

We work to an even stricter code than the statutory safety and environmental requirements: to our own principles.

Every day we implement numerous work safety and environmental protection measures.

All storage and production areas comply with the maximum requirements of the Federal Water Act.

We reduce air emissions by ensuring that all storage and production containers are properly closed and sealed.

All storage and production areas are additionally protected by barriers for the retention of fire-extinguishing water.

Special collecting basins are provided to catch any spillage from open batches.

Filling processes take place over a sealed collecting basin.

The air emissions from distillation are completely neutralised by means of catalytic afterburning.
